The Productivity Guide

Word has it that the most productive people are happier and more successful. Is it true?

Well, yeah. Productivity and happiness may be more related than you think. If you are having a bad day, or life is just getting you down, that’s when you need to start getting busy. Distraction is a good strategy to keep your mind off things, but you need to know how to do it right.

First of all, stop overloading your brain and trying to store every information in mind because that will only add more stress, pressure and anxiety. We have to always be stress – free, in order to be productive. In addition of that, with some efficient tools I’m going to share with you later, rest assured that you will be more productive and organized.

1) POST IT NOTES

Never underestimate the power of these colorful small pieces of paper. Writing down the things you have to help you to narrow down the tasks based on their importance and dateline. It will be very useful for you to write down 3 most important daily tasks on 3 post – it and stick them on your computer.

Other than that, you can also write down some positive messages or maybe your favorite quotes on your Post – It notes for you to read through everyday to keep a positive mind!

2) Manage your energy

Manage your energy, not your time.

You know yourself, and you know what type of energy you have in the morning, after your lunch, evening or even at night. Therefore, you need to determine when to do your tasks according to your energy level and time of days are best suited for, to get optimum result.

If you love the early fresh air and most energized after you wake up for a morning run, then jog in the morning. If you think afternoon is the best to be updated with the news in between lunch snacks, do it. You’re the master of your own time.

3)

Leave your phone out of sight

When work is in progress, or WIP, turn off your phone and leave it phone on the other room, if you’re at the office, leave it on your friend’s desk. Anywhere that is out of sight, out of mind. This helps to prevent the urges to check on your texts frequently, go on Facebook, update your status on Twitter and so on. This task seems easy, but it’s hardest to comply. However, this strategy is proven to be very helpful in eliminating the likelihood of slipping into procrastination, where your attention is being divided among meaningless tasks.

There’ll be break time or lunch time for all that. And no, working hours is definitely not for playing Pokemon Go as well. Glad we’re past that phase!

4) Kick off your day with a pre – game routine

A pre – game routine can be a simple task you do everyday to start off your day completely. It could be by drinking a glass of water, listening to your favorite “getting ready” songs, light exercises or 10 minutes of meditation. This helps you to set your brain to a productive mode, and motivate you to something more afterwards.

5) Plan your day the night before

It really takes about 15 minutes before bed time to save 3 hours the next day if you already develop a short list of the most important items for you to accomplish. Be mentally prepared about what you’re going to do the next day, so you’ll be fully aware of your priorities, hence, more efficient in managing your time.

Make each day your masterpiece.
 John Wooden

Being productive definitely helps in improving the quality of your life. Learn to manage, Prioritize. Get things done. Be efficient. Stay busy. Achieve success.

Nothing can go wrong when you have a well – directed and effective motion in your life.
